Have a perfect smile!

NIKKI’S STORY: NEW SMILE, NEW LOVE

Our patient Nikki gave us this lovely testimonial:

Nikki Bennett, aged 68, finds new love!!

Smoking caused my bad gum disease and, eventually, a heart operation. Unfortunately I had to have seven teeth removed before the operation, and then address their loss. initially, I had been quite happy with two implants in my lower jaw and a denture for the upper losses, until it was pointed out to me by my regular dentist that further implants would be more beneficial and aid my dental structure, for the rest of my life.

It made sense to address the alignment of my teeth prior to more implants as this would improve both my bite and appearance. For me the practical was more important than the aesthetics, at that point.

So began 18 months of Joe Dwyer (orthodontist), Simon Wright (implantologist) and myself working as a team, with close monitoring and thorough cleaning, to get the desired results of gradual realignment and restructuring.

Patience and teamwork paid off, and I was delighted with the outcome, especially as the work was finished just before Christmas. I remember I couldn’t stop smiling, (especially into a mirror!), and I felt more confident in social situations.

For a few years friends had been urging me to find a new man in my life and I always said “not until my teeth are done”, and thought no more about it. I was amazed when love came my way in the form of Michael, who fell for my smile. He says, “The fact is, you really do have beautiful teeth.”

At age 68 and 66, respectively, we feel so happy to have found each other and to know we can laugh and smile together uninhibited.

So, many, many thanks to Joe and the team for their part in my wonderful new life.
